Corpus Christi Procession

In order to celebrate the great Feast of Corpus Christi and to give thanks to God for The Body and Blood of Christ, our parish is having a special Corpus Christi Procession this Sunday, 5 June from St Patrick’s College, Killymeal Road to St Patrick’s Church, Dungannon.

We will leave St Patrick’s College at 6.30pm to arrive at the church at 7pm for Prayer and Benediction.  This is the first time such a procession has taken place in our parish.  Every other year the procession was held inside the church grounds.  The Corpus Christi Procession is a great opportunity for all of us to express our belief in, and our love for, Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, which is central to our faith.  We would ask that people think about it and give serious thought to joining us next Sunday.  If you are unable to walk from Killymeal Road, you can take part in the prayers which will be said inside the church at the same time as the procession.  We invite our Confirmation and First Holy Communion children and adults from the parish and neighbouring areas to join us.  The children might like to wear their Confirmation or First Holy Communion clothing.  We also invite all our altar servers from the parish to join us.

The Procession will be preceded by Adoration in St Patrick’s College from 2.30pm-6.30pm.  Everyone is welcome to adore the Blessed Sacrament during this time.

We would ask everyone to gather at St Patrick’s College for 6pm prior to departure at 6.30pm. There are limited car parking facilities at the College, however you may wish to park in the Church or Convent car parks and walk down to the College.

We expect as many people as possible to take part in the Procession as it will give expression to our faith that we too are The Body of Christ.
