Blessing of Graves 2021

GRAVESIDE PRAYER FOR THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED

Lord Jesus Christ, by your own three days in the tomb you made holy the graves of all who believe in you and so made the grave a sign of hope that promises resurrection even as it claims our mortal bodies.

Lord of love and mercy, we trust in your everlasting goodness.  We remember our loved ones in this grave and those in graves in other places.  May we hold their memories dear and ever follow their example of kindness and of faith.  May they rest in the eternal happiness and peace of our heavenly home.

Let us who remain find comfort in our sadness, certainty in our doubt and faith and hope in your promise, Lord, of eternal life for all who place their trust in you.

Sprinkle the grave with Holy Water.
