November: a month to pray for our departed loved ones
Throughout the month of November the Church traditionally prays in a special way for all the faithful departed. Each of us are invited to pray and offer penance during this month for our departed loved ones and friends, and indeed for all the holy souls in purgatory, especially those with no one to pray for them.
You are welcome to include your departed family and friends in the Parish List of the Dead, by submitting a list of the names of people you would like to be remembered, either in the sacristy or parochial house. All those in the Parish List of the Dead will be remembered at all Masses during the month of November, as well as the Masses celebrated on the First Friday of every month for the coming year.
Eternal rest grant onto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
